[La journaliste] - Ravie de vous rencontrer.
[Journalist] - Very pleased to meet you.
So I'm going to show you something that makes us vibrate. I think it's the same for you.
Ça vous fait quoi de voir ça ?
How does it feel to see that?
[Zidane] It doesn't feel good, because it's weird with this hair!
[Journalist] It's still magic, isn't it?
[Zidane] But that however, this moment on the field with the Cup, it's fabulous.
[The journalist] It's fabulous, and this popular fervor that followed, which is still there, is it still carrying you today?
[Zidane] Victory is beautiful. We lived it on the field, but what is beautiful is what we did for people.
And so to be... to see people in '98, united like that, go out on the street and enjoy, yes, that's the most beautiful thing.
Because victory is beautiful, but the most beautiful is what goes beyond football and sports, it is to see people on the street.
[The journalist] Talking of which, I wanted to show you something, it's these images, your portrait on the Arc de Triomphe, this crowd at night and as many the next day!
It really is a crazy thing!
[Zidane] Yes it's crazy.
[Reporter] When you look at them today, how do you feel?
[Zidane] Toujours, j'ai des frissons moi à chaque fois. À chaque fois parce que finalement...
[Zidane] Always, I shiver every time. Every time because eventually...
[Reporter] Oh, you feel it just like us!
[Zidane] Ben oui, oui, bien sûr, bien sûr, mais toujours, à chaque fois, à chaque fois d'ailleurs.
[Zidane] Yeah, yes, of course, of course, but always, every time, every time by the way.
[Reporter] Since then you have reached perfection everywhere.
Everything you did turned into gold I would say.
Do you still have a dream today?
[Zidane] Well but you know my dream never stops.
[The journalist] Yet you have achieved quite a number!
[Zidane] Yes, but I live my life fully, I live it with passion and whenever there is something in front of me I try to do it in the best way possible.
And there, once again, to have experienced this with Madrid the way things have happened, to have won nine titles in two and a half years, that's fabulous. But afterwards there is what's next.
[Reporter] You will enjoy your family I guess?
[Zidane] Well, that's it, I'll enjoy what you don't do when you're really active.
[The journalist] So yesterday Emmanuel Macron, on Télé Foot, told Christian Jean-Pierre among other things that he wanted you to play a role in the country because you had something to contribute.
I don't know whether you heard those words yesterday?
[Zidane] I was told what the president said but I think that anyway I play an important role.
I represent a lot of values, anyway I know it, but well that's my way of being.
[The journalist] You know that the French have a dream for you, you're aware of it...
[Zidane] C'est-à-dire ?
[Zidane] That is to say?
[The journalist] You know very well that after Didier is done with his job, after he brings us a second wonderful star and wants to stop ...
[Zidane] The most important thing is that. The most important thing is that we must support the France team.
We must... I know there have been a lot of comments but it must stop because I didn't stop out of a wish to take the France team, no.
J'ai arrêté pour faire une parenthèse.
I stopped to make a parenthesis.
I am behind the French team 100% percent, 100% percent.
And what we want is precisely, as you said, that it bring back a second title.
And I think there is room to do something very good.
[Reporter] Have you had Didier on the phone, perhaps, with a word of encouragement?
[Zidane] No, we met not so long ago, we talked a little bit about it, so no, I told him that... A 100% behind the team!
[Zidane] Non.
[The journalist] So tomorrow you'll be in shape for this France '98 game? [Zidane] No.
[Reporter] But come on, we want you to score goals! [Zidane] In shape, no, you asked me a question, whether I'd be in shape.
I'm telling you that I won't be in great shape but it does not matter, the important thing is to be there, and people will push us to be in shape.
[La journaliste] Mais nous on veut crier "et 1, et 2, et 3 - 0".
[The reporter] But we want to shout "and 1, and 2, and 3 - 0".
[Zidane] On va essayer !
[Zidane] We'll try! We will see that and we're hopeful for them.
[Reporter] Thank you very much, it was a pleasure. [Zidane] Thank you, thank you.
